It truly amazes me the amount of "stuff" I carry arround for my daughter, Emma. The diaper bag is often busting at the seams. But sometimes life happens beyond the diaper bag or the bag gets left at home so I have a box I keep in the car with essentials ... just in case. It has helped me on many occassions.

Here is what I keep in my go box.

  • Diapers and wipes. I keep 5-10 diapers in the car at all times. You never know when you are going to be out longer than you anticipated, or when your husband is going to forget the diaper bag when you meet for dinner and he picks up your child from school. Its best to be prepared to keep that cute little bum dry and protected.
  • Sippy cup and a bottle of water. Hydration is key! Whether the sippy cup gets taken into a restaurant for easier drinking then out of a straw, or for a quick drink while out running errands, this definitely comes in handy.
  • Snacks. An applesauce pouch and a packet of cookies or goldfish crackers have saved more than a few errand trips that lasted too long. Oh, and some fruit snacks in case mom needs a little extra sugar (and yes, of course I share with Emma).
  • Blanket. It's great to keep Emma warm in her car seat, or to lay on the ground or back seat of the car for a quick diaper change.
  • Sunscreen, hand sanitizer, and tissues. Just because. You never know when you will need them.
  • Kid size utensils and a medicine dropper. When eating out the utensils can be a huge help to avoid extra large mouthfuls from a full size spoon. And a clean medicine dropper is always good to have on hand for the bumps and mishaps that happen along the way.

Yes, I tend to be on the over organized end of the spectrum, and I'm okay with that. It keeps me going and helps me watch out for Emma!
